he Chief's Regulation No. 4 (Reg. 4) program is a testing program intended to ensure maintenance of fire protection equipment and systems continue to function at the same level as originally intended to operate in accordance with the code(s) in effect when a new system is installed or when an existing system has been upgraded. Once a system is accepted by the Fire and/or Building Department, each system or equipment is required to have the entire system tested at either 1 or 5 year intervals also known as a Reg. 4 “Initial Test” which is performed on the system or equipment “Anniversary Testing Date”.
